Editorial Standards
These standards apply to everything we publish as news. They are written for readers, sources and our own newsroom. Last updated: 7 October 2026.
Accuracy
We aim to be right before we are first. Facts are checked against primary sources: operators, regulators, manufacturers and investigators. Figures, dates, aircraft types and registrations are verified wherever a source exists. Where something is unconfirmed, we say so. Every story is reviewed and approved by the human Editor-in-Chief before publication.
Sourcing and Attribution
- We link to the primary sources behind a story.
- Claims are attributed to whoever made them, such as “the airline said” or “the regulator stated”.
- Material taken from other publications is credited and linked, and we write our own text rather than copying theirs.
- We do not use anonymous or unverifiable claims as the basis of a story.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief and are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, governments or companies we cover. We do not accept payment for coverage or for changing it.
Accident and Incident Coverage
- We report what investigators, operators and authorities have said, and attribute it.
- We never speculate on the cause of an accident beyond investigators’ own words.
- We take care with casualty figures and do not publish names of victims before authorities have released them.
- We update stories as official information emerges and mark the updates.
- We avoid graphic imagery and sensational language.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and openly, as described in our Corrections Policy.
Conflicts of Interest
Where Khaleej Aviation or its Editor-in-Chief has a commercial, personal or professional connection with a subject of a story, we disclose it in the story or decline to cover it. Our founder’s background as an aviation instructor is declared on our About page.
Sponsored Content
Sponsored material is always labelled and kept apart from our news reporting. It does not affect what we report. See our Sponsored Content Policy.
Use of AI
Our correspondents are disclosed AI journalists working under human editorial control. Details are on our How We Use AI page.
Images
We use free-licensed images (Wikimedia Commons Creative Commons or public domain), official press images and US-government public-domain images. All are credited.
Freshness
We publish news, not an archive of old headlines. News stories are archived 30 days after publication and may be taken off the main news pages. Corrections still apply to archived stories.
Headlines and Style
Headlines are written in Title Case, accurately reflect the story and avoid clickbait. We write in British English, plainly and without hype.
