This policy explains how Khaleej Aviation handles personal data when you visit khaleejaviation.com, write to us or subscribe to our newsletter. It is written with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR in mind. Last updated: 7 October 2026.

What We Collect

Contact emails: your name, email address and message content when you write to us, including story tips, corrections and advertising enquiries.
Newsletter emails: your email address when you ask to be added to our newsletter. At present subscription is handled by email to [email protected]; we do not yet use a third-party email service provider.
Server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time and referring page, created automatically by our web server and by Cloudflare.
Cookies: essential cookies only. See our Cookie Policy.

We do not currently run advertising networks or analytics trackers. If we add them, we will update this policy and our Cookie Policy first and, where required, ask for your consent.

Why We Use It and Our Lawful Bases

To reply to your emails and enquiries: legitimate interests (running a news organisation and answering the people who contact us), or steps at your request before entering a contract.
To send the newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and diagnose faults (server logs and security cookies): legitimate interests.
To make the site work (login and session cookies): legitimate interests; these are strictly necessary.
To meet legal obligations, where they apply.

How Long We Keep It

Correspondence: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and a reasonable period afterwards, normally no more than three years.
Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Server logs: kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or overwritten.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site: our hosting provider and Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site to deliver it and protect it from attack. They act on our instructions or under their own terms as infrastructure providers. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

International Transfers

We are based in Pakistan, and our providers may process data in other countries, including outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred from the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions that our providers use.

Your Rights

Under GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you;
have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
have your data erased in certain circumstances;
restrict or object to our processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
receive your data in a portable format, where applicable;
withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.

Children

Our site is intended for a general adult readership and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We will update this policy when our practices change, for example if we adopt a newsletter service, analytics or advertising. The date above shows the latest revision.
